Fire Safety Management Services

Fire Risk Assessments

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which came into effect on 1st October 2006, applies to the majority of non-domestic premises. The legislation places certain obligations on the ‘Duty Holder or Responsible Person’ for the premises, that includes carrying out a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment by a competent person. This can be a trained member of your own staff, or you can call us at Total Fire Safety, safe in the knowledge that our company is BAFE SP205 for Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment accredited. Each assessment produced comes complete with a Certificate of Conformity. Our assessors are competent professionals with a wealth of experience. We provide you with crystal clear reports written in plain English, containing all the detail you need to understand and manage your fire risk.

We follow a strict methodology to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our reports. At the same time we understand that each client’s circumstances and needs are individual and we tailor our inspections to your specific requirements. This means that your reports are about your fire risk as opposed to a general, theoretical fire risk, and that they are relevant, actionable and thorough.

For larger estates we provide an industry leading information system with significant online management and reporting capabilities. This is designed to provide you with instant, actionable information, enabling swift, effective decision making and saving you time and money.

And we can work harder for you. While we are onsite we can gather data and report on other related areas. For instance, increasingly our customers are asking us to carry out a stock conditions survey at the same time as a fire risk assessment. This is a great, cost efficient way to open up visibility of your estate.

In short, we have the systems, the flexibility, and the can-do attitude to provide you with exactly the right service for your company or organisation, based on your specific needs.

Fire Door Surveys

Are Your Fire Doors Safe?

Often overlooked in the upkeep of fire safety systems, the fire stopping performance of a fire door is vital in restricting the movement of fire and smoke. Most fire doors are in everyday use which inevitably leads to wear and tear and problems such as doors not quite closing properly. A fire door is essentially a barrier. If there is the slightest gap in this barrier, smoke and embers will escape and fire will spread. Your fire doors need to be checked and maintained regularly, so that when you really need them, they will do their job effectively.

The fire stopping performance of fire doors can be affected by a number of things including the door itself, the frame, other hardware, intumescent strips and smoke seals. You need to be confident that your fire doors are working properly in every aspect.

With this in mind, at Total Fire Safety our Fire Door Survey service covers everything. We survey, specify, supply, install, upgrade and maintain fire doors:

  • Survey doors and provide reports with recommended actions
  • Prepare specifications for upgrading and new doors
  • Supply, Install and test new doors and fire stopping materials
  • Provide ongoing maintenance programmes

Your fire door survey will ensure that your fire doors are compliant with fire safety regulations and completely effective in the event of a fire.
