Fire Risk Assessments

Fire Risk Assessments

What is a Fire Risk Assessment?

Fire risk assessments are a legal requirement according to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This essential audit is tailored to the fire-related risks involved in your business. It is a detailed review of how fires in your building should be prevented, detected, and contained; and how people would get to safety.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into law on 1st October 2006. Under Fire Safety Duties, it requires the building’s responsible person to make a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment. Whilst an assessment can be completed by the responsible person, the penalty for getting it wrong can be severe. In most instances, the responsible person looks for a competent person or business to assist them.
