Fire stopping (compartmentation) Surveys
Fire stopping is an essential part of fire safety. Correctly maintained compartmentation helps protect life and the integrity of a building.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, businesses must ensure that the building’s fire stopping systems “are subject to a suitable system of maintenance and are maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order, and good repair.”
Our friendly and fully trained surveyors use their knowledge to complete a non-intrusive, or if required intrusive, inspection of the building’s fire compartmentation.

We also offer ISO9001 and FIRAS accredited remediation to resolve any non-compliant elements; bringing your compartmentation to a compliant standard and ensuring your building and people are safe and protected.
Investing in fire stopping (compartmentation) surveys with Total Fire Safety helps ensure your people and building are safe and protected.
We complete an assessment of the building’s compartmentation utilising relevant industry guidance, such as Building Regulations Approved Document B, Building Bulleting 100: Design for fire safety in schools, or Health Technical Memorandum 05-02 Fire safety in the design of healthcare premises, alongside any site-specific fire strategy information made available.
We review existing fire stopping to ensure its compliance to manufacturer installation detail.
Upon completion, we provide an easy-to-read, action plan which shows the locations of defects, a summary of each finding with photographic evidence, and suggested remedial actions to be taken. This is also provided with a summary Excel document.
